4 oz. cream cheese or 1/4 c. butter
1 lb. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp peppermint extract
red, pink, or green food coloring (depending on the season)
cream or milk
Mix together all the ingredients, adding just enough milk to make a hard fondant. Knead then chill. Make into little balls and put into molds. Refrigerate. When hardened, pop out the candies. Store in the refrigerator or freezer.
Pioneer Mom's notes: I have made these in the past, and am hungry for them just posting this recipe! They are a really good pop-in-your-mouth candy after a meal. I would not add any coloring at all; white is fine with me!
